E.coli Alert! - 9/3/2020

According to WATERTODAY.CA, a BWA (Boil Water Advisory) was was issued in Osoyoos BC Canada on June 4th /2020, due to the presence of E.coli in rural system #9.

E. coli or Escherichia coli is perhaps the most widely known waterborne pathogen. Most E. coli strains are harmless, but some can cause severe food poisoning in humans.

In 2000, a small community in Ontario called Walkerton had their water supply contaminated by E. coli bacteria. Over 50% of the town's residents got very ill, and at least seven people died.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Escherichia coli (E. coli) microorganisms can cause serious stomach cramps, diarrhea, and severe nausea. Kids and old age people have a more at risk of evolving a dangerous form of kidney failure.

Private wells are a generally a more serious concern, as wells are the owners' responsibility and the regulations that govern them are laxer. In a 199192 survey of 1292 drinking water wells on farmsteads in Ontario, 40% of the wells were found to contain one or more target contaminants (coliform bacteria, nitrate and select pesticides) at levels above the maximum acceptable concentrations. Without regular care and maintenance, rural water systems are bound to become corrupted.

I believe that everyone needs safe and healthy water every day. One of the best ways of achieving this is by testing your water. Certified lab reports provide the crucial information needed to design the right filtration system for specific levels of contamination.

At The Pure Element Water Ltd., we choose the best solution to make your water safe at POE (point of entry) and healthy at POS (point of service).

Don't hesitate to contact me by e-mail or by phone. I will take the time to discuss your specific concerns so that we can move forward with a concerted plan of action.
